David M. Poirot

David is the owner and managing partner of the firm. David is a capable and proven advocate for his clients. He brings patience and a calm demeanor when fighting insurance companies. David strives to obtain for his clients the results they deserve. He has served his clients well.

David has twenty-six years of experience handling personal injury law, criminal defense, and workers' compensation matters. He has successfully tried numerous jury cases to verdict and has argued multiple appeals before the Connecticut Supreme and Appellate Courts. David has lectured at several seminars, providing continuing legal education to other attorneys.

Since 1992, David has represented hundreds of people injured in motor vehicle crashes, slip and fall accidents, dog bite attacks, and workplace incidents, among others. Due to David’s skill and experience negotiating with insurance companies, attorneys, and employers, he has successfully settled the majority of his client’s cases, for a just and fair amount, without the need for protracted litigation. David tries cases when settlement is not advantageous to a client’s interests. He regularly receives jury verdicts exceeding the amount an insurance company was willing to offer prior to trial.

David has handled numerous pro bono cases and legal matters for those in need. Prior to working at Gold, Levy & Poirot, David was an associate attorney with the Law Office of Steven Meo from 1992-2006, and with the Willcutts Law Group from 2006-2008.

David lives in Simsbury with his wife and three children. In his spare time, David is an avid triathlete and runner. He has competed in several charity races throughout Connecticut and New England. In 2011, he completed the Lake Placid Ironman, an endurance race consisting of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and a 26.2-mile run. He has also qualified for the triathlon age group national championships for multiple years.
